Who are the people behind HuggyHomey?
Nicole Pang and Kester Ng started HuggyHomey in 2017. Their business has grown as the interest in Home Staging has grown. There’s quite a few companies in Singapore offering Home Staging services. But what makes HuggyHomey different? Let's find out more.
I studied as a Product and Industrial designer at college, but somehow fell into the creative world of advertising. I quickly rose up the ranks and became an integrated Creative Director. I spent 22 years in the business. But after all those years, I was still drawn, like a magnet, to furniture, interior design, European architecture and art.
This innate passion made me reassess what I was doing in life. These thoughts and feelings snowballed when during my several trips to the United States, Australia and Europe, I came across the concept of staging, which at the time didn’t exist in Singapore. I had an epiphany. I realized that Home Staging was a business that ticked off all my passion points. And that’s why I got into it.
Starting a Home Staging company came naturally to me after my 22-years advertising stint as a Creative Director. When I started this company, I felt this explosion within me! I got a thrill out of transforming peoples’ homes.

Deep inside, I know I bring more to a project than just styling up a space. That’s because of my background as an advertising creative. In the world of communication, you learn to be a problem solver. Every property has its unique features and challenges, a puzzle to be worked out. Which is why I am always present for all our home staging projects.

Many people at the beginning struggled to understand what we were offering. But that has changed over the years. As a concept, it is quickly becoming mainstream in Singapore.
Still, as mainstream as it gets, we like to manage property marketing with excellent staging, from the point of view of professional home stagers. Our hands-on presence during all staging projects ensures consistent quality and transparency, including in our pricing. We maintain reasonable and comprehensive rates with no hidden costs.
We’re always happy to negotiate for large houses, but there’s a certain cost to providing these services that we can’t go below. And if a potential customer tries to beat us down too far, we walk away. In our minds, they obviously don’t understand, nor appreciate, the value that we’re bringing.
We’ve made many of our customers hundreds of thousands of dollars on top of their original asking price. So what the homeowner spends on our services is extremely good value. A small investment for a big return. Home Staging is right for some, but there are many others that really don’t get the concept. And that’s fine. We want to work with those clients that get it and who know reap the benefits.

Yes, a lot of our clients love our staging so much, they want to have their new homes outfitted exactly the same way. So we have a started a furniture business where our clients can by the furnishing and accessories they love. We also offer interior design services. And in addition to that, we have started a business division, which is aimed at corporations, developers and real estate agents.

Here’s what we do.

First, you send us your floor plans via email, as well as photos and videos of your property. From those assets we will get a sense of the design and ‘space plan’ you need. For large homes, with certain challenges, we will come over to your home and meet you in person. We’ll look around your house, take pictures and get a sense of the space, especially any awkward nooks, crannies and features.

We’ll then take your client through our catalogue of furniture, which gives them the choice of several themes, and help them decide which style is right for their home.

We’ll discuss the price, which is based on the size of the property, the number of days to complete the staging and the length of time the staging will last. Contact us for a FREE proposal and quotation.

We’ll agree on dates for the staging work to be done. On those dates, our team will remove their existing furniture for storage and start placing our furniture and accessories around their home. This normally takes us a full day to do, unless the property is empty. Then it will take just a couple of hours.

The sales process starts and viewers can come around and check out the property.

The property gets sold. We come back in and remove our furniture and accessories and then put the existing furniture back where we found it. You wouldn’t even know we’d been there.
